Kavala's City Council has approved the free transfer of an 8,610-square-metre municipal plot in the Amygdaleonas community for the complete renovation and operation of a sports training centre and competition grounds. The decision, taken at the council's 3 June session, is intended to give local athletics clubs access to modernised facilities outside the city centre. Officials say the project reflects continued municipal investment in grassroots sports infrastructure alongside the city's higher-profile football and sailing facilities.
