Officials gathered at the Philippi archaeological complex this afternoon for the formal handover of the restored Basilica B, marking the completion of a significant conservation effort. The restoration initiative received €700,000 in financing from the Eastern Macedonia and Thrace regional authority's development fund. Culture Minister Lina Mendoni, Regional Governor Christodoulis Topsidis, and other local and ecclesiastical officials attended the ceremony to mark the occasion. The Basilica B stands as one of several important early Christian structures at the ancient site, which has long drawn both scholars and visitors interested in Byzantine and classical heritage. The completed work is expected to enhance the visitor experience at one of northern Greece's most important cultural monuments.
