The Municipality of Kavala organised a disco party at Kapnergatis Square on Saturday 21 February 2026, followed by a carnival parade in Krinides on Sunday 22 February, starting from the car park of the Philippi archaeological site. Clean Monday, on 23 February, brought the traditional Koulouma celebration to the "Alexandra Dimoglou" municipal sports centre in Kavala and to the park by the Ancient Theatre of Philippi, with kite-flying and outdoor food a central part of the day. The events form part of the municipality's annual pre-Lenten calendar.
