The Archaeological Museum of Kavala, open since 1964 in a building near Faliro Park by the port, is considered one of the most important archaeological museums in Eastern Macedonia. Its permanent exhibition, "Neapolis - Christoupolis - Kavala," traces the city's continuous history through its different names and eras, alongside Neolithic finds from the nearby Dikili Tash settlement and material from ancient Amphipolis. A dedicated room devoted to Parthenos, the patron goddess of ancient Neapolis, displays architectural fragments from her Ionic temple, including two columns preserved at their original height.
