The Commercial Association of Kavala submitted a memorandum with 12 proposals to the prime minister ahead of the 90th Thessaloniki International Fair, calling for measures to improve the business environment and support small and medium-sized enterprises. Among the requests is a redistribution of General Commercial Registry revenue to commercial associations and federations, the removal of a 15 percent penalty for missed instalment payments, and a dignified exit mechanism for indebted merchants who want to close their businesses without accumulating further penalties. The association described trade as the country's largest employer and argued that supporting small businesses is a matter of social cohesion, not just economic policy.
