A City Council decision from last August that raised tuition fees at Kavala's Municipal Conservatory, in some cases doubling them, has been formally annulled by the oversight committee established under Article 152, after parents of students filed an appeal. The ruling covers the entire 2025-2026 academic year, meaning the municipality must now refund any excess fees already collected. Opposition councillor Yiannis Erifyllidis, head of the "Kavala Forward" bloc, publicly congratulated the parents for their persistence in pursuing the case.
