Representatives of the board of the Kavala Prefecture Disability Association and the Eastern Macedonia Union of the Blind held a working meeting on Tuesday, 16 June 2026, with Sotiris Lazaridis, president of the Eastern Macedonia branch of the Technical Chamber of Greece. The meeting focused on accessibility for people with disabilities moving through Kavala's public urban spaces, including the waterfront area belonging to the Kavala Port Authority. Participants discussed specific obstacles affecting mobility and raised the issue of coordinating future infrastructure projects with accessibility standards from the design stage.
