The Kavala Chamber of Commerce and a newly formed advisory office called "Europe for Kavala," led by economist and tax consultant Filippos Kotsaridis, launched their partnership with a public event on the evening of Tuesday, 21 July 2026, drawing a packed audience to the Chamber's event hall. Speakers included economist Kostis Mousouroulis, a former shipping minister, and Panos Gredis of the European Public Law Organization's Brussels office, who discussed the region's development strategy for 2028-2034. One of four development pillars highlighted was the "blue economy," covering the port, shipping, fisheries and aquaculture as potential growth engines for the area.
