Kavala's City Council held its 18th session of 2026 on the evening of Wednesday, 29 July, in a mixed in-person and videoconference format, working through 16 agenda items. Among the most significant were approval of the feasibility and financial-model study for the 14,000-kilowatt photovoltaic stations proposed by the Kavala Renewable Energy Community, and a vote on whether to accept the concession agreement for the "Kalamitsa Beach" tourist property owned by the Public Real Estate Company. The session also included approval of a third budget revision for the Municipal Theatrical Public Benefit Enterprise (DIPETHE Kavala).
