Kavala City Councilor Christos Potolias, representing the Popular Unity (Laiki Sygkrotisi) bloc, has condemned as unacceptable a proposed concession agreement for the "Kalamitsa Beach" tourist property, owned by the Public Real Estate Company, which is expected to come before the City Council for a vote. The agreement would grant paid use rights over the seafront property. Potolias argues the terms favor the concessionaire at the expense of public access and municipal interests, a criticism the municipal administration has yet to formally answer in detail.
