A wildfire broke out in an area of low vegetation near Krinides, close to the Philippi archaeological site, on the morning of Tuesday, 18 August, prompting a response from the Kavala Fire Service. Crews brought the fire under control before it could spread to nearby structures or crops, and no injuries or property damage were reported.
