New Rest Stop Under Construction on Egnatia Highway Near Kavala

The Egnatia Odos highway is implementing traffic restrictions in the direction of Kavala starting Monday to build a new parking and rest facility. The construction project is expected to continue through the end of 2027.

Beginning September 28, motorists traveling toward Kavala on the Egnatia Odos will encounter reduced lanes as crews construct Rest and Parking Area 17 near the city. The traffic management measures will remain in effect around the clock throughout the construction period. Authorities have announced that these restrictions will persist until December 2027 as the new facility takes shape. The rest stop is intended to provide drivers with additional amenities along this major national highway corridor.
