Kavala's City Council has approved a feasibility and financial-model study for a network of photovoltaic stations with a combined capacity of 14,000 kilowatts, submitted by the Kavala Renewable Energy Community. The study, a required step before construction financing can be finalised, sets out the projected costs and returns of the solar installations. Council members linked the project to the municipality's broader renewable energy ambitions, though some councillors have separately raised concerns about the financing structure behind related energy investments.
